The Joseph A. Fiore Painting Prizes were awarded at an opening ceremony at the Firehouse Center in Damariscotta on June 24. Maine College of Art & Design alumni Tessa Greene O'Brien MFA '16 won $1,500 for first place, Baxter Koziol '17 won $1,000 for second place, and Meg Hahn '17 won $800 for third place. The juror for this year’s prize was Elizabeth Finch, Lunder Curator of American Art at Colby College Museum of Art.

The Joseph A. Fiore Painting Prize is an instrument of encouragement and support for New England artists during their early creative years of development. The exhibition at The Firehouse Gallery continues through August 28.
