To promote the incredible talent of our alumni, Maine College of Art & Design hosts alumni exhibitions both on campus and off-site. The Alumni Triennial takes place every third year in the ICA at MECA&D.

Call for Alumni Work is Open for the 2022 MECA&D Alumni Exhibition

The show, scheduled for January 14 - February 27, 2022, will be juried by curator Kate McNamara. McNamara is a curator and educator based in Providence, Rhode Island. She currently holds the position of Executive and Creative Director of My HomeCourt, a nonprofit arts organization working with contemporary artists to revitalize city parks. McNamara is also working as the Curator-at-Large for Providence College-Galleries during the 2021-2022 season and is a Visiting Critic at Rhode Island School of Art and Design. McNamara previously served as Director of Exhibitions at Otis College of Art and Design and held curatorial positions at MoMA PS1 and Participant, INC.

There is no fee to enter and all current alumni of MECA&D’s undergraduate and graduate programs are encouraged to apply. The submission deadline is September 13, 2021.

Charles C. Thomas Gallery

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, exhibitions in the Charles C. Thomas Gallery are on hold until MECA&D reopens to the public.

MECA&D has openings for exhibitors in the Charles C. Thomas Gallery in the Administrative Center at MECA&D. The Gallery was named for a former Board of Trustees member who served from 1993 to 2005 and was an exemplary and generous leader, friend, and advocate for the College. A hallway gallery with 76 linear feet of wall exhibition space, it is suitable for 2D work only. Alumni interested in submitting work for consideration can contact Isabelle O'Donnell at isabelle.odonnell-staff@meca.edu or 207.699-5018.
