MECA&D's Privacy Statement

Maine College of Art & Design respects your privacy and the privacy and security of the information you provide the College. MECA&D and its service providers do not sell your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other information you provide to entities outside the College. If a visitor chooses to share personal information with MECA&D by sending a message or filling out an electronic form with personal information, the College will use the information only for the purposes intended. This information may only be released if legally mandated by law enforcement investigators, required by court proceedings, or necessary to internal investigations of violations of College rules and regulations.

We take data security and the privacy of your personal information seriously. This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

The College is bound by The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Amended (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99). This law affords students the right to privacy with respect to their educational records, including but not limited to courses taken, credits earned, grades and grade point average. While Maine College of Art & Design may use data collected to provide you with relevant information about our programs, all data collected is for the institution’s internal use. We do not share any unique information (e.g., name, email address, etc.) with third parties without your consent, unless required or permitted by law.

MECA&D collects information about your IP address to help administer our websites, analyze trends, create summary statistics, and monitor system performance. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.

The College does not use "cookies" to gain access to private information about you. However, MECA&D may use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and help track information you voluntarily provide. The college may use Remarketing with Google Analytics and/or Facebook Pixel to advertise online, therefore, third-party vendors, including Google and Facebook, show the College's ads on sites across the Internet or on Facebook products. The College and third- party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on someone's past visits to the College's website.
