Each year, Maine College of Art & Design awards Professional Development and Creative Entrepreneurship grants to students who seek opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom.

The selection committee was comprised of Maine College of Art & Design faculty member Samantha Haedrich and Associate Dean and Director of Public Engagement Elizabeth Jabar.

This years awardees are:

Prudence Ho '19, Painting
To upgrade a mobile museum store for external use

Jamie Latorre '20, Woodworking and Furniture Design
To attend a workshop in North Carolina on the construction of tiny homes

Ozlenen Ozbicerler '19, Graphic Design
To support networking, promotion, and marketing for her freelance work as a designer of art publications

Brendan Shea '18, Painting
For six months of studio space

James Sylvester '18, Printmaking
For 8 students in an art collective to travel to the 2018 Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, New Mexico where they will be exhibiting work

James Sylvester ‘18 was awarded travel funds to bring a collaborative installation piece VRage (Virtual Reality Art Gallery Experience) to the Currents New Media Festival in Sante Fe.
