Marian Baker

Marian Baker spent a two‐year apprenticeship with master potter Robert Eckels and also spent two years working in production pottery, and as a resident potter at Waimea Pottery in New Zealand.  She is the founder of Islesford Pottery on Little Cranberry Island, a seasonal studio and gallery she has run for the last 26 years. She has taught at MECA&D for the last 29 years.  She earned her BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University and her MFA in Ceramics from Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Craftsman.

Extracurricular

Marian likes to travel by train, is a connoisseur of dark chocolate and enjoys knitting. But her greatest passion is working in her summer studio and gallery on Little Cranberry Island.
