“I am a student‐centered educator. I work to know my students and understand where they are coming from and what they are bringing with them in regards to knowledge of the subject matter and personal experience. Whether in a classroom or studio, I create a learning environment that is both supportive and rigorous. I expect students to be self‐motivated and to be active participants in their own education. I encourage students to challenge assumptions, break down personal barriers and biases, overcome setbacks, and make connections in their creative processes.”
Paul Gebhardt earned his BFA in Sculpture from MECA&D and his MFA in interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College. He is a former professor in art and art education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and was art department chair at the Chauncy Hall School. In 2014, he was a presenter on “Collaboration through Public Engagement” at the 2014 Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) Conference. Extracurricularly, Paul loves to cook for family and friends.
