Living Green: Examining Sustainability
October 30—December 11, 2004
The Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art & Design (ICA at MECA&D) and Architalx have partnered to present the exhibition Living Green: Examining Sustainability, opening on October 30.
The three galleries within the ICA will each host a different exhibit. In the front gallery, Marguerite Kahrl will display her “art cars,” functional vehicles made from recycled materials. The center gallery will host an installation by the international collective “spurse”. The rear gallery features Ten Shades of Green, curated by London-based architect and writer Peter Buchanan and organized by The Architectural League of New York.
Living Green is made possible thanks to the support of Harriman Associates, CBRE: The Boulos Company, Maine Arts Commission, Maine Community Foundation, Correct Building Products, Portland Builders, PDT Architects and Architect James Sterling, Scott Simons Architects.
