Our recent 2017 COLLECT Summer Art Sale was an enormous success, which raised money for MECA&D's student scholarships while also benefiting participating artists. Thanks to the time, talents, and treasures that so many of you generously contributed, we were able to generate more than $100,000 in just three days to support our participating artists and provide MECA&D scholarships for the next generation of professional artists. It was a true pleasure for me to see the art, including work from our youngest alumni and our most accomplished faculty in the gallery. As your new President, the opportunity to meet so many artists and collectors only added to the excitement I feel as we embark upon this journey together.– Laura Freid, President of Maine College of Art & Design
