Like so many others across the country, I am deeply troubled by the Trump administration's plan to end the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) program.
MECA&D will not be silent about the need to protect young people who came to the United States when they were children. Like all Americans, these "Dreamers" deserve the basic opportunity to work and study without the threat of deportation.
Our mission is to educate young artists who will go on to make significant contributions to our community, our city, our country and the world. All highly talented students -- of all backgrounds—are welcome here.
We stand with all of the families impacted by this decision, especially those who are a part of our community: students, faculty, staff, alumni, supporters and friends.
