Cathy Schroeder Hammond has been creating pottery since 1987. She teaches and hosts group events from two home studios surrounded by pastureland and woods. Her functional stoneware is fired in a large electric kiln, which preserves the bright and vivid colors of her signature glazes. The work is durable, nontoxic, and safe for use in the oven, microwave or dishwasher, provided sudden temperature changes are avoided. She is a member of the Maine Potters Market, a cooperative retail venue located in Portland’s Old Port.
