Jenna Crowder is an interdisciplinary artist and writer working in publication, installation, criticism, and curation as modes of public practice. She is interested in writing as a visual practice and language as a site of collaboration and performance. Her writing has appeared in such publications as The Brooklyn Rail, Art Papers, Temporary Art Review, BURNAWAY, Boston Art Review, The Rib, VICE Creators, and Liminalities: a journal of performance studies, in addition to artist catalogs and anthologies.
Jenna is the Co-Founding Editor of The Chart, an arts journal that celebrates slow publishing, regionally-specific critical artistic dialogue, and IRL conversation as a form of publishing. The Chart has received grants from The Kindling Fund, the Maine Arts Commission, the Rabkin Foundation, and the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation to support the journal and its programming, which include a Visiting Artist Lecture Series, Critics-in-Residence, and annual publications in addition to its online platform.
