I Live Here, I Paddle There
Mainers are finding new ways to continue their heritage of working on the water. Shellfish aquaculture, particularly oyster farming, is experiencing a boom. But not everyone is excited to see these operations moving into Maine’s waters. The Mere Point Oyster Company has applied to lease 40 acres of water in Maquoit Bay, near the town of Brunswick. Residents are finding ways to voice their concerns.

Allison Wilson got a degree in Audio Production because she likes to make mix tapes, and got into Community Radio because she likes scrappy nonconformists. While at KDHX in St. Louis, Missouri, she produced two on-air interstitials, The Nonprofit Spotlight and The Music Director’s Cut, and a podcast about local music called The Way We Sound. She also has experience in live sound production, on-air hosting and board operation, mixing for video, event production, marketing, web editing, improv comedy and pastry baking.
