Once burned, twice cautious
George Stanley runs Pickerz Paradise, a makeshift flea market on Route 202 in Greene, Maine. He also calls it home. Over the past decade, he’s had a tumultuous relationship with his neighbors. But things came to a head this year, when someone posted a fake Craigslist advertisement while George was on vacation saying everything at his house was free.

Emily Scott is a radio producer and writer from the Philadelphia suburbs. She graduated from Temple University’s journalism program in 2018, where she was an editor for the print student newspaper, The Temple News. Her work has primarily focused on health and income inequality in Philadelphia neighborhoods. She previously interned at WHYY, Philadelphia’s NPR affiliate.
